Define your Budget
Be honest with yourself and us about how much you are willing and able to spend. While not necessary, it’s smart to be preapproved or at least but prequalified for a certain mortgage amount. Be sure to factor in homeowners association fees, maintenance costs and taxes along with the mortgage when establishing your budget.
Establish a Timeframe
Make sure we are on the same page by informing us of your timing situation. If you’re in a hurry or have plenty of time to search, each hunt will be handled differently.
Location
Be specific as possible where you want to live, such as a radius or around a desired location. Let us know about the neighborhoods and specific school district you’re interested in. We may know of an alternative location that you may not have considered!
Type and Size
Think about how much space you need and what is right for your lifestyle. How many bedrooms and bathrooms do you need? Do you have a certain square footage in mind? Do you want a small yard or acreage? Are you planning a large family? Do you want to maintain a large home or piece of land?
Must-Haves
Many clients want a home that is move-in ready. Please communicate the amenities that are important to you. Some of the most common must-haves include updated kitchens and bathrooms, hardwood floors, open floor plans and big yards. Depending on this list, we might be able to find a home that satisfies all your wants and needs for the right price. Although, it is often buyers have to make tradeoffs.
Non-Negotiables
Let us know up front things that are a dealbreaker for you. Maybe it’s being located next to a busy road , or in the case of living in West, Texas, a pumpjack. You’ll save everyone a lot of time and effort.
